Thermal Insulation
Keep your home, office or commercial building warmer in winter and cooler in summer with Bradford’s Polymax comprehensive range of thermal insulation products.
Insultherm Glass Wool Blanket is a high performance, anti-condensation glass wool building blanket. Its thermal efficiency allows significant reductions in heat gain in summer and heat loss in winter and can assist in control of condensation under various types of roofs. Insultherm blankets have a metalised polyester single sided aluminium foil laminated to one side with an overlap of 150mm along one side. Available in rolls, in various thicknesses and a range of reinforced aluminium foils or black scrim facing.
Rigid Insulation Board a range of super high performance fibre free rigid thermoset phenolic insulation core boards designed for various applications. Kingspan Kooltherm or Pirmax is available in Cavity Board for double brick cavity wall and brick/block cavity wall, Soffit Board for flat concrete roofs and concrete floors, Framing Board for behind wall lining and framed walls, Insulate Plasterboard is also available.
Thermal Break Insulation, Vapour Barrier and Acoustic Barrier suited to steel frame construction in factories, sheds and houses. E-Therm is semi rigid sheeting available in rolls and is very easy to use.
E-Therm barriers will reduce the amount of noise radiated from the roof or walls minimising rain, aircraft and traffic noise coming into your shed. Conversely it keeps the noise you make within the shed. E-Therm stops drafts and dust, is completely water resistant, will not shrink or sag and is fibre and itch free.
Suitable for use in metal and tile roofs, double brick, brick veneer and cladded walls.
Glass Wool Batts are highly effective, lightweight, flexible and resilient insulation batts. Glass Wool Batts will increase temperature comfort and minimise energy within the home.
The thermal performance of a batt is dependent on the thickness. If you have an R 3.0 batt at 175mm thickness this will not fit into a 75mm or 90mm thickness wall stud. Compression of the batt will result in loss of thermal rating and can exert undue pressure on the wall cladding.
Insulation is rated on either its thermal or acoustic value. If a thermal batt is rated at R3.0 for example, there is no difference in performance whether it is polyester or glass wool. It is rather a personal or a financial choice.
The polyester is not suitable as it wraps around the fixing screws required for installation.
If you have a timber stud frame, you must use a breather foil or breathable building membrane. For a steel framed home a 6.5mm foil faced foam product with an R value of R0.2 must be used in order to satisfy the thermal bridging requirements. There are 6.5mm products in the market that do not meet these standards so choose carefully.
